Consent to Electronic Records and Signatures
Last updated October 31, 2026
Your landlord or property manager (the “Office”) uses PropFlow to send you leases, notices, statements, inspection reports and other documents, and to let you sign them electronically. Federal law (the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act) and state law (the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act) let you do this, but only with your consent. Please read this before you agree.
What you are agreeing to
- To sign documents electronically by typing your name, initials or drawing your signature.
- That your electronic signature and initials have the same legal effect as signing on paper.
- To receive the signed document and related records (copies, receipts, statements and notices the law allows to be sent electronically) through PropFlow, by email or by text message link.
This consent covers the document you are signing and records related to the same application or tenancy, unless you withdraw it. Some notices may still be delivered on paper where the law requires.
Your right to paper
- You don't have to sign electronically. You can ask the Office to sign on paper instead.
- You can ask the Office for a free paper copy of any document you signed or received electronically, at any time.
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time by telling the Office in writing (by email, text or letter). Withdrawing doesn't affect documents already signed. After you withdraw, the Office will send future documents on paper. There is no fee to withdraw.
Keep your contact details current
Tell the Office if your email address or mobile number changes, so documents reach you.
What you need
- A phone, tablet or computer with internet access and a current web browser (Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox), or the PropFlow iPhone app.
- An email address or mobile phone number that can receive messages.
- A way to view, save or print PDF files, to keep copies. Signed copies can be downloaded from the signing page or the resident portal.
What PropFlow records
With each signature, PropFlow records your typed name and initials, the date and time, your IP address and browser, and a fingerprint (hash) of the exact document you saw, so anyone can confirm later that it wasn't changed after you signed.
Questions
Contact the Office that sent you the document. Its name and phone number appear on the signing page and in the resident portal.
