Fix or void a payment
Correct a payment entered wrong, or mark one as bounced or a duplicate.

Payments can't be deleted. This keeps a clean record of every dollar. Instead, you fix a payment with Edit…, or mark it void with Void…. Both are on Collections → Payments and on the tenant page's Payments tab.
Fix a payment
- Find the payment and click Edit….
- Change what's wrong: Date paid, Amount ($), Paid by, Method, the reference number, Notes, or the Rent month.
- If you changed the amount, date, payer or month, fill in Why is it being corrected?.
- Click Correct payment (owner) or Send to owner (manager). If you only changed the method, reference or notes, click Save.
When the owner corrects the amount, date, payer or month, the old payment is kept in the history marked "Replaced by a correction". Balances and late fees update. When a manager does it, the change goes to Approvals for the owner. The method, reference and notes save right away.
Void a bounced or duplicate payment
- Find the payment and click Void… (owners) or Request void… (managers).
- Pick Void / bounced or Duplicate.
- Type a reason, like "Check returned NSF".
- Click Confirm (owner) or Send request (manager).
A voided payment no longer counts toward the balance, so the tenant owes that money again. To see voided payments, set the status filter on Collections → Payments to Void / duplicate.
Heads up: A voided payment can't be brought back or edited. If you voided one by mistake, record the payment again.
